Swim the Channel for Pershore Plus

Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre is excited to invite the local community to take part in a unique and fun relay challenge on March 29th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Pershore Leisure Centre. The goal? To swim the distance of the English Channel, all from the comfort of the local pool!

The challenge will see participants swimming a total of 21 miles—equivalent to 1,352 lengths of the pool. Whether you're an experienced swimmer or someone just starting out, everyone is encouraged to join the relay team. You can swim as many or as few lengths as you like—every stroke counts toward reaching the ultimate goal.

“We want this event to be an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to come together in a fun, supportive environment,” said Kim Macdonald, Volunteer Coordinator, at Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre. “This is a chance to challenge yourself, meet others in the community, and most importantly, help raise much-needed funds for our work supporting local volunteers.”

All participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship for the event, with proceeds going directly to the Volunteer Centre to support its continued efforts in serving the local community.

Participants can sign up as individuals or as part of a team. Each swimmer's contribution will bring the community one step closer to completing the Channel swim challenge, and every length swum helps make a real difference in supporting the Volunteer Centre’s vital work.

Cost: Free to participate, but sponsorship is encouraged to raise funds.
