The attached cheque is a gift from my late mother who so enjoyed the many years she was a member of the (previous) Wednesday lunch club. My volunteer experience enabled me to practice my Microsoft Office skills and increased my confidence, which helped me to learn new skills and return to work. I appreciated being consulted on how to assist with change and enjoyed working within a very upbeat fantastic office team.

As a community organisation, we value the amazing range of skills offered by volunteers recruited through the Volunteer Centre’s bespoke service. Together they promote our ethos, support the wellbeing of our clients and muck-in at events!

I enjoy being a volunteer and of use to people. Volunteering is a lovely way to put something back into the community.
Derek (Minibus now car driver)
I really enjoy helping others and, as I get to know clients and gain a greater perspective of their life and challenges, I also gain a greater appreciation of my own life.

I’ve been driving for the Volunteer Centre for 16 years and absolutely love it. As a driver you meet some really good characters and nice people. I’m helping them and they are helping me as I have to be doing something with my time otherwise I get restless and stressed out at home.
