Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre has been helping people in need in Pershore and the surrounding areas since 1984
Founded in 1984, the Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre has been dedicated to creating volunteering opportunities for individuals eager to contribute to their local community. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for both volunteers and residents alike.
We strive to embed the values of volunteering and well-being at the core of our community. By offering exceptional support and services, we aim to serve not only the Pershore area but extend our reach to surrounding regions.
Volunteering
Without our team of volunteers, Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre simply wouldn't be able to offer the many supporting services that it does.
As a business, we recruit for volunteers to support both our centre, and on behalf of local groups who are also in need of 'more helping hands'.
No matter how much or how little of your time you can donate, even a short telephone conversationjust once a week can make all the difference to a person who is experiencing feelings of loneliness or isolation.
At Pershore Plus Volunteer Centrewe are always recruiting for volunteers, to support both our centre, and local groups and other charities needing a helping hand!
Whether you fancy supporting an outdoor activity, or have a few spare hours to join our team of Volunteer Drivers, giving up your time to help others is very rewarding.
Each month, Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre has a calendar of eventsand activities.
Whether it's a day trip to the seaside, an outing to a retail park or garden centre, or a chance to attend one of the regular lunch clubs that we run, these events may be the only time some of the people in our community leave their homes and see others!
At Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre, our Community Transport operates thanks to a number of volunteer drivers, who provide a door-to-door transport service for individuals in Pershore and the surrounding areas.
Ultimately, our Social Car Scheme serviceis here to support those in our community and help alleviate social isolation for good.
Our Services
From offering wheelchair accessible Community Transportand a BefriendingService, to Lunch Clubs and Day Trips out, our support helps people in the community by giving them the opportunity to socially interact.
Our Resource Centre, which is available to community and voluntary groups, includes photocopying, bulk printing and mail franking, whilst our meeting room which seats up to 10 people is available to hire.
Our centre runs a volunteer based, Community Transportscheme which is designed for local residents who have limited mobility or those unable to use public transport. The centre itself has three wheelchair-accessible vehicles, including two minibuses and these are used in conjunction with the volunteers who kindly use their own vehicles.
At Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre, our Resource Centreenables the local community, and other voluntary groups and charities affordable photocopying, laminating and document binding.
We also offer a franking service for mail and our on-site meeting room is available to hire by the hour. With seating up to 10, it is well equipped with kitchen facilities.
Join us at our fortnightly Lunch Club, which is usually held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month at St Andrew’s Hall in Pershore.
Freshly cooked, each two-course lunch is served from our 5-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hygiene rated kitchen. Alternatively, there is also a lunch at The Angel Hotelin Pershore, which takes place on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
At Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre, we know that having the option to interact with others is vital in combatting social isolation and loneliness.
It's just one of the many reasons that we organise a calendar of events including a number of Day Trips out, and with activities including visits to the seaside and local garden centres, it's easy to see why these events are so popular!
A DBS check is carried out on any individual to ensure that they are of a suitable character to work with children and vulnerable groups.
At Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre, we are registered to assist not-for-profit organisations in applying for DBS checks, thus ensuring that potential employees and volunteers are DBS checked and certified.
Our Befriending Schemecan be in-person or via telephone. By fostering a positive, mutually beneficial relationship, our volunteers provide their time to improve the well-being and outlook of others, by offering support and companionship to community members who are experiencing feelings of loneliness or social isolation.
