Community Transport

Pershore Volunteer Centre provides a Community Transport service for residents with limited mobility or those unable to use public transport, thanks to our team of vetted volunteer drivers (all DBS checked and wearing ID badges).
Our service has two elements:
  • Social Car Scheme: Volunteer drivers use their own cars for pre-booked journeys.
  • Minibus Service: Wheelchair-accessible vehicles and minibuses available for shopping trips, social activities, or community group hire.
Our Community Transport service is for registered clients only. To register, call 01386 554299, visit our office, or complete the online form. Please bring your bus pass if applicable.

Booking Desk Hours:

Open for bookings:
  • Monday-Thursday: 10.00am - 4.00pm
  • Friday: 10.00am-1.00pm
Staff may be taking lunch between 12.30-1.30pm. If you can't get through then please leave a voicemail and someone will call you back.

Volunteer Drivers and Passenger Assistants Needed! Join us as a volunteer driver by completing this form.

Social Car Scheme

Our Social Car Scheme helps reduce isolation in rural communities by providing low-cost transport for those with limited access. Fares are comparable to local bus fares, with a £1 discount per journey for bus pass holders.

Who Can Use the Service?

  • Residents within our catchment area.
  • Travel for social activities, medical appointments, visiting friends and relatives, or community events.

Booking a Journey:

  • Book by phone, email or in person with at least 1 weeks notice.
  • Maximum of 2 journeys per week (exceptions may apply).
  • We offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles with seating for up to 3 passengers

Fares:

  • Charged based on mileage, with subsidized rates for bus pass holders.
  • Single and return journeys available; rates may vary for longer waits or special circumstances.
  • Emergency or out-of-hours trips may incur a small surcharge.
This map shows the catchment area for Community Transport clients but we welcome volunteers and volunteer opportunities from South Worcestershire including Evesham, Worcester and even Tewkesbury.
