Community Transport Introduction

At Pershore Volunteer Centre we work to provide varied and valued services for local residents, community groups and voluntary organisations. A key element of this is to provide a Community Transport service for residents of Pershore and the surrounding villages who have limited mobility or are unable to use public transport.

We deliver this through a team of approved volunteer drivers who undergo a rigorous vetting process, including a DBS check, to ensure we maintain the highest standards. All drivers wear an ID badge to provide added reassurance to our service users.

We have two separate elements within our Community Transport Service:

Social Car Scheme – volunteers in our car scheme drive their own cars, taking clients on pre-booked journeys;

Dial-a Ride – Wheelchair Accessible vehicle and minibuses adapted for wheelchair users take clients for shopping trips or other social activities, and are also available for community group hire.
